The international festival “Uly Dala – Koshpendiler Alemy” is held in Almaty

In the picturesque foothills of the Alatau in the archaeological park "Boraldai Saki Kurgans" the annual international ethnofestival "Uly Dala - Keshpendiler Alemy" is held, in which more than 140 representatives from 18 countries of the world take part. For two days, residents and guests of Almaty will be able to admire the skill of professional eagleman, horsemanship and kokpar riding, archers, see hero fights, evaluate the skill of riders picking up scattered coins, play national games, try national dishes. “Uly Dala - Kushpendіler Alemy” will give everyone an opportunity to get acquainted with the rich heritage of the Kazakhs and other Turkic peoples.

“The strongest ethno-musicians and sportsmen, hunters with birds of prey and masters of applied arts will demonstrate their talents at the festival. The main goal of the ethnocultural festival is the revival of the ancient history of nomadic peoples, explaining the national identity of each nation to future generations, ”commented Nurlan Sydykov, the head of the Department of Culture of the City.

The event will feature a giants show led by seven-time champion of Kazakhstan, two-time world champion and twice entered the Guinness Book of Records - Sergey Tsyrulnikov. They will fight, hammer nails with their bare hands, bend iron, lift weights. Winner of unprecedented power Sergey Tsyrulnikov will hold a master class and organizes a special competition for the audience. In addition, guests from Hungary under the leadership of Andráš Biro will take part in the equestrian war games, arrows from Bashkiria will demonstrate the art of “Mergen Uks” - archery on foot and on horseback. The team "Salbuurun" from Kyrgyzstan will show the skills of berkutchi and hunting with hounds dogs.

Today, Almaty’s governor Bauyrzhan Baybek familiarized himself with the construction project on the territory of the Boraldai barrows of the Saka Culture Center. At the moment, the design and estimate documentation has been developed and transferred to the state expertise. According to the head of the city, the creation of this center will increase the tourist potential of Almaty, interest in the history of the country, will save the invaluable archaeological park, preserve for future generations the pearl of the national historical and cultural heritage.

As part of the implementation of the program article of the Elbasy "7 Facets of the Great Steppe", in Almaty, the mausoleum of Raiymbek Batyr will also be reconstructed with the creation of a memorial museum complex. In addition, the planned construction of ethnocultural complex "Ethnoland."

During the festival, a number of exhibitions of contemporary national art, performances of ethno-folklore ensembles “Turan”, “HasSak”, as well as other famous artists from Turkey, Mongolia, Altai, Tuva, Chuvashia, Kyrgyzstan, etc. are planned.

Anyone who wants to have the opportunity to test themselves and take part in exciting contests and quizzes with valuable prizes, as well as learn the secrets of blacksmithing, jewelry, recipes of national cuisine, get practical lessons from needlewomen and other experts in decorative and applied art of nomadic peoples, collect and disassemble a miniature yurt. There are fun and educational entertainment for the youngest visitors. It is planned that in two days the festival will be visited by more than 20 thousand people.

The event takes place on June 7 and 8, admission is free. For the convenience of guests:

from 8-00 to 19:00 special bus routes are organized, which will depart from four points: Baytursynov / Abay, N.Sats Theater (Shalyapin, 22), Alatau Traditional Art Theater and Almaty-1 Railway Station (parking). The fare is 150 tenge.
